Early Childhood Education Initiative Goals:
- Increase the number of children who enter Kindergarten programs ready to learn.
- Increase parents and families understanding of early childhood development and literacy.
- Improve the capacity of early education professionals to recognize and respond to at-risk developmental and pre-literacy characteristics in order to reduce the number of children entering school with potential learning problems.
- Increase early childhood development, health, and education by providing knowledge of and access to training and materials focused on evidence- based instruction.
- Increase coordination/partnerships between early childhood development, health, and education programs in the non-public and public preschool communities.
- Increase public awareness about the importance of early childhood development, health, and literacy.
