Mesa United Way Family Fun Van

The Family Fun Van recently finished its 12th year of operation. This mobile van, loaded with toys, games and books, goes on-site for outdoor fun and learning at four locations in Mesa. This program is offered through a joint effort linking Mesa United Way, Arizona Literacy & Learning Center and The Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley.  This free program provides information and education to parents with infants, toddlers and/or preschool age children (from birth to age 5). Our goal is to help ensure that children enter kindergarten "Ready to Learn" and can realize continued, lifelong success. A significant component of our outreach is directed at age appropriate playtime, recreation, and literacy. Program usually runs from October to April.

Family Fun Van Schedule

Each activity at the Family Fun Van (recreation, story time, and an art project) has a purpose, such as language development, memory development, fine & gross motor development and socialization skills.  In addition, moms, dads' grandparents and caregivers who attend the Family Fun Van have the opportunity to enhance their parenting skills.  Equally important, they will learn about community resources and have a chance to play, socialize, and recreate with their child and other parents outside the home.

Come & join the fun!
